On Wednesday 22 February 2023, Dr. I. (Ivona) Lončar defended her PhD thesis at Erasmus University Rotterdam, titled Refinement in Thyroid Surgery.
In her thesis, she explored how the treatment of patients with thyroid disorders can be further refined, with a focus on both surgical and non-surgical strategies. She also extensively studied hypoparathyroidism, the most common complication following thyroid surgery.
Over the past years, Ivona Lončar has been actively involved in improving thyroid care in the Southwest Netherlands region. She contributed to several studies initiated and supported in collaboration with the SchildklierNetwerk. The SchildklierNetwerk warmly congratulates Dr. Lončar on this achievement and thanks her for her valuable contribution to regional collaboration and knowledge development in thyroid care.
